Boursa Kuwait closes Thursday in red

Mubasher: Boursa Kuwait ended Thursday’s trading session in decline after rising for the last two days.

The Premier Market index lost 1.14% or 61.1 points and closed at 5,281.2 points.

BK Main 50 declined by 0.21% or 8.64 points to close at 4,104.11 points, while the Main Market index slid by 0.32% to 4,142.38 points.

Accordingly, the All-Share Index closed down by 0.91% at the level of 4,897.43 points.

Traded values decreased by 40.4% to KWD 33.32 million, down from KWD 55.92 million on Wednesday, with traded volumes shrinking by 43% to 141.72 million shares, compared with 248.51 million shares yesterday.

Six market sectors ended today’s session in decline, as the telecom index retreated by 2%, while four sectors recorded gains with commercial services adding 1.5%.

NCCI was the top loser as it dropped by 19.1%, while Metal & Recycling Co topped the rising stocks and surged by 10%.

KFH led the trading activity on all levels, with a turnover of KWD 9.38 million, 14.33 million shares traded through 1,189 transactions, before closing at KWD 0.653 down by 0.76%.
