Boursa Kuwait closes Sunday lower after suspending two sessions

Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait closed Sunday’s trading session in decline after the stock market has suspended its activity on Wednesday and Thursday due to the unstable weather conditions in Kuwait.

The All-Share, Premier, and Main markets went down 0.25%, 0.22%, and 0.31%, respectively.

The decline on Sunday is a normal performance following the floods that hit Kuwait in the past week, capital market analyst Yacoub Al Mashaan told Mubasher.

The All-Share Market broke the main support of 5,100 points, approaching its second support at 5,085 points, the analyst added.

The consumer goods segment led eight decliners with 1.4%, while the basic materials and consumer services sectors were the gainers with 0.48% and 0.47%, respectively.

Boubyan Holding led the losers with 15%, while Kuwait Syrian Holding topped the winners with 11%.

Boursa Kuwait’s turnover shrank by 34.6% to KWD 10.48 million on Sunday compared to KWD 16.02 million on Tuesday, while the trading volume decreased by 2.5% to 97.41 million shares from 99.93 million.

Kuwait Finance House (KFH) posted the highest liquidity of KWD 1.44 million, the stock added 0.34%.

Aayan Leasing was the most active stock on which 16.16 million shares were exchanged, the stock went up 1.9%.
