Blue chips push up ADX Monday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed Monday’s trading session in green territory, supported by the growth of four sectors.

The general index increased by 34.67 points, or 0.72%, ending the session at 4,865.82 points.

The ADX’s trading volume reached 45.57 million shares exchanged with a turnover of AED 140.314 million through 1,643 transactions.

The energy sector topped the gainers adding 1.54% as Dana Gas and ADNOC Distribution grew 2.34% and 0.88%, respectively. 

Similarly, the banks sector rose 0.75% due to First Abu Dhabi Bank’s (FAB) 1.16% increase, followed by telecommunication sector and its sole stock, Emirates Telecommunications Group (Etisalat), which went up 0.71% each.

FAB’s stock led ADX in terms of liquidity with AED 50.96 million, while Manazel Real Estate’s stock spearheaded the bourse in terms of trading volume with 14.78 million shares.
