Blue chips drag down DFMGI Thursday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market’s (DFM) general index fell 0.17%, or 5.68 points, to 3,330.44 points on Thursday, pressured by blue-chip stocks.

The DFM’s trading volume increased to 186.12 million shares from 185.22 million on Wednesday, while the market’s liquidity declined to AED 197.55 million, compared to AED 292.45 million in the previous session. 

The real estate sector decreased by 0.35% after Emaar Development, DAMAC Properties, Deyaar Development, Emaar Properties, and Union Properties levelled down 1.41%, 1.2%, 0.94%, 0.32%, and 0.11%, respectively.

On the other hand, the banks sector added 0.58%, as Al Salam Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), and Ithmaar gained 1.52%, 0.64%, and 0.34%, respectively.
