Banks push up ADX at Thursday’s close

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) ended Thursday’s trading session with positive performance, supported by the growth of the banks sector.

The general index grew 0.57%, or 29.13 points, ending the last session of the week at 5,127.45 points.

The ADX’s trading volume reached 53.708 million shares exchanged with a turnover of AED 218.638 million through 1,691 transactions.

The banks sector topped gainers after adding 1.05% as First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) grew 1.34%.

Meanwhile, the energy sector headed the bourse’s decliners falling 1.24% as Dana Gas dropped 1.54%, while the real estate sector went down 0.16% after Aldar Properties decreased 0.53%.

By the end of the session, FAB’s stock led the trading volume with 4.712 million shares, generating AED 71.025 million in liquidity.
