Banks, energy boost ADX Monday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s (ADX) general index added 29.42 points, or 0.6%, to close at 4,938.92 points on Monday, pushed up by the banks and energy sectors.

The ADX’s trading volume reached 36.11 million shares, while the market’s liquidity hit AED 154.986 million.

The banks sector rose 1.68%, as First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) went up 2.46% and the energy sector increased by 0.35% after Taqa gained 0.84%.

On the other hand, the telecommunication sector and its only stock, Etisalat, declined 1.48% each.

The real estate sector lost 1.43%, as Eshraq Properties went down 1.69% and Aldar Properties decreased by 1.55%.

FAB lead the market in terms of liquidity, with a turnover of AED 81.46 million.
