Banks, EGX to close during Eid El-Adha; Saafan unveils holiday for private sector

Cairo – Mubasher: Banks operating in Egypt will suspend their operations for one week during Eid El-Adha holiday from 9 to 14 July, Ahram Gate cited the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) on Monday.

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) will also be closed during the same week.

Meanwhile, trading and work at the EGX and banks will resume on Sunday, 17 July.

In addition, the Egyptian Minister of Manpower, Mohamed Saafan, stated that the 9-14 July period will be a fully paid holiday for private-sector employees.

Earlier this week, the Cabinet decided a six-day holiday for all employees at ministries, government entities, as well as the public sector on the occasion of Eid El-Adha.
