Ban Ki-moon named GEMS ambassador for MUN

UAE – Mubasher: Ban Ki-moon, the former secretary-general of the United Nations (UN), has been appointed as as the official ambassador for the Model United Nations (MUN) at GEMS World Academy, including GEMS World Academy in Dubai.

Ban officially signed the required documentations to be the ambassador at GEMS World Academy schools, the Middle East-focused education group said in a statement on Thursday.

Ban ki-moon signed the document at Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens in the presence of Sunny Varkey, chairman of GAMES Education on Wednesday, 22 May.

The former secretary-general of the UN will hold the position for the coming three years.

It is worth mentioning that GEMS World Academy Dubai hosts the MUN as part of its curriculum.
