Mubasher: The Khalifa Town project in Manama, Bahrain is nearing completion as work on hundreds of residential units makes major headway.
Work on the project's infrastructure has so far reached 80%, Sami Abdulla Bouhaza’a, the country's housing ministry assistant undersecretary for housing projects, said in a statement, forecasting that Khalifa Town will be wholly completed by the end of 2018.
“The construction of more than 1,100 units has so far reached up to 95%”, he stated.
Upon completion, the Khalifa Town will house 6,000 units that can accommodate up to 54,000 people.
As for the current phase of the project, Bouhaza’a said it was being carried out on two stages in the area between Riyadh Askar and Bar Al-Dur.
The top official further noted that the ministry was working on speeding up construction at the Khalifa Town in order to meet demands by citizens eligible to obtain units in the project.
Bouhaza’a also stated that the same efforts and procedures will be implemented in the kingdom's other top projects such as the Slman Town, the East Hiid Town, and the Al-Ramli housing project, all of which are currently under construction.
