Mubasher: The Kingdom of Bahrain will become the official host for the Gulf Chemists Union's (GCU) headquarters.
The decision was approved by Bahrain's prime minister prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, who had supported the initiative and request.
The Bahraini "Cabinet had endorsed the registration of the GCU in Bahrain during its regular weekly session on 14 May, commending the role played by the Foreign Affairs Minister, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa in this regard," Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported on Saturday, citing Bahrain Society of Chemists chairman Abdulwahid Al-Nakal.
Bahrain will assume presidency of the GCU during its next session, Al-Nakal said.
He further noted that the Bahrain Society of Chemists will host the Third GCU periodic meeting on 19 June.
