Bahrain BHD70bn T-bills subscribed

Bahrain - Mubasher: The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) said that this week’s issue of treasury bills, which is worth BHD 70 million, has been oversubscribed by 162%, according to a statement.

The bills, carrying a maturity of 91 days, are issued by the CBB, on behalf of the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The issue date of the bills is 29 March 2017 and the maturity date is 28 June 2017, the statement noted.

The weighted average rate of interest is 2.22%, compared to 2.19% for the previous issue on 15 March 2017.

The approximate average price for the issue was 99.442% with the lowest accepted price being 99.428%.

This issue raises the total outstanding value of government treasury bills to BHD 1.810 billion.
