Bab Al-Azab project attracts EGP 2bn from sovereign fund, investors

Cairo – Mubasher: The Sovereign Fund of Egypt has partnered with local and international investors to inject about EGP 2 billion into the development of the ‘Bab Al-Azab’ area of Salah Al-Din Al-Ayyubi’s historic Citadel, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Thursday.

The agreement signed with the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities is in line with the sovereign fund’s role in driving investment into the country and promoting public-private partnerships, the fund’s chairman and minister of planning and economic development Hala El-Saeed said.

This marks the first investment project for the sovereign fund in the tourism and services sectors.
