Riyadh – Mubasher: Basic Chemical Industries Company (BCI) recorded a hike in net profit for the first half (H1) of 2026, reaching SAR 22.88 million compared to SAR 1.09 million during the same period in 2025.
The company attributed the 1,999% growth primarily to an 8.51% rise in revenues and a one-time gain of SAR 11.46 million from the sale of property, plant, and equipment.
For the second quarter ending on 30 June 2026, net profit rose to SAR 17.60 million, up from SAR 3.61 million in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Quarterly revenue reached SAR 197.30 million, a 4.67% increase over the SAR 188.50 million recorded in the second quarter of 2025.
The company noted that higher selling prices for basic chemicals and polymers offset a decline in total volumes sold.
Operating profit for the six-month period climbed by 52.18% to SAR 40.89 million, while total shareholders' equity reached SAR 613.07 million.
Earnings per share (EPS) stood at SAR 0.83 in H1-26, compared to SAR 0.04 in the prior-year period. The financial results also benefited from a SAR 2.20 million reduction in Zakat and income tax expenses.
On 17 June, BCI’s shareholders approved significant amendments to the Articles of Association during an extraordinary general meeting (EGM).
