BA’s suspension of flights to Cairo not ordered by British Gov’t

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Ministry of Civil Aviation denied media reports that British Airways’ (BA) suspension of flights to Cairo was ordered from the British government, according to a statement.

The civil aviation ministry contacted the British embassy in Cairo which affirmed that the suspension decision was not issued by the UK's foreign or transport ministries.

The ministry also announced the arrangement of more flights from Cairo to Heathrow airport in London starting on Sunday to facilitate transporting travellers.

It is noteworthy that British Airways decided to suspend its flights to the Egyptian capital for seven days as of Saturday.
