Assets of UAE banks grow 6% in March

UAE – Mubasher: Assets of banks operating in the UAE increased by 6.4% in March, registering AED 2.89 trillion, compared to AED 2.71 trillion in March 2018, according to a report released by the Central Bank of UAE (CBUAE) on Tuesday.

The GCC nation’s bank lending levelled up 4% year-on-year to 1.67 trillion by the end of March, the CBUAE revealed. 

Money supply (M1) rose 2.2% to AED 512 billion in March, from AED 501.1 billion in the month before, according to the central bank’s report.

Similarly, M2 increased by 0.6% to AED 1.321 trillion in March from AED 1,328 trillion in February, while  M3 shed 0.8% to AED 1.619 trillion versus AED 1.63 trillion.
