Aramco’s unit, Russian MSU sign oil, gas cooperation deal

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Aramco Upstream Technology Company (SAUTC), a subsidiary of state-run Saudi Aramco, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) to boost cooperation in researches of oil and gas exploration, with a focus on upstream technology.

Under the deal, the two parties will cooperate in implementing programmes and projects in a bid to develop new advanced materials in the oil and gas sector, in addition to techniques of reservoir and oilfields data, according to the world's largest oil producer’s statement on Wednesday.

“Saudi Aramco welcomes this collaboration with Moscow State University, an institution that is distinguished both by its venerable history and its academic prestige, notably in advanced upstream disciplines,” Aramco’s senior vice president of upstream Mohammed Al-Qahtani said.

The  MoU also entails organising conferences, laboratories, symposia, and workshops, the statement showed. 

“Collaboration with Saudi Aramco will assist in turning theoretical ideas into practical developments and innovations,” Andrey A. Fedyanin, vice-rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University commented.
