Arabian Insurance swings to losses in H1-26 on lower service

Riyadh - Mubasher: Arabia Insurance Cooperative Company reported net losses after Zakat and tax of SAR 26.74 million for the first six months (6M) of 2026, reversing a net profit of SAR 9.57 million in the first half (H1) of 2025.

The company attributed the downturn to a SAR 21.70 million decrease in net insurance service results and an SAR 8.10 million drop in net investment income, alongside a SAR 5.90 million rise in other operating expenses.

Insurance revenue for the half-year period rose by 31.63% to SAR 486.02 million, driven by growth in the motor and health segments despite declines in engineering and other sectors.

However, the net insurance service result fell by 57.90% to SAR 36.26 million. Loss per share for the period stood at SAR 0.50 compared to earnings per share of SAR 0.18 a year earlier.

For the second quarter (Q2) of 2026, the company posted a net loss of SAR 11.94 million, compared to a profit of SAR 5.13 million in the prior-year quarter.

Quarterly insurance revenue reached SAR 239.21 million, a 20.96% increase year-on-year (YoY).

As of 30 June 2026, accumulated losses reached SAR 54.91 million, representing 10.40% of the company's capital. Total shareholders' equity stood at SAR 544.67 million.
