Anti-corruption returns to support citizens' funding - Minister

Riyadh – Mubasher: Settlements with persons involved in Saudi Arabia's anti-corruption probe will contribute to boosting citizens' funding set by the royal decrees, Minister of Finance (MoF) Mohammed al-Jadaan said on Wednesday.

This year will be positive for the Kingdom, as the nation’s growth starts relying on non-oil revenues, Al-Jadaan added.

Earlier in January, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz approved royal handouts for employees, in addition to a monthly subsistence allowance of SAR 1,000 for one year.

The monthly subsistence allowance will cost the government about SAR 50 billion ($13.3 billion), said Saudi Minister of Culture and Information Awwad bin Salehd Alawwad.

In November 2017, Saudi Arabia arrested 11 princes, as well as several former and current ministers based on a royal decree by King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

The arrested included Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, whose investments and companies cover a wide range of sectors across the world.
