Aman's board proposes first dividend distribution in 10 yrs

Dubai – Mubasher: The board of Dubai Islamic Insurance and Reinsurance Company (Aman) has recommended its first cash dividend distribution, equivalent to 6% of net profit attributable to the shareholders, since 2011.

The proposed dividend showed the company's strong financial performance for 2020, reflecting the initial benefits of the new three-year growth strategy.

In 2020, Aman's net profits jumped by 117% to AED 19.049 million from AED 8.768 million in 2019.

Commenting on the recommendation, the Chairman of Aman, Saleh Al Hashemi, said: "We are already executing on our growth plans, but we also see exciting opportunities to further expand our offering and presence in the market."

Al Hashemi remarked: "We intend to develop new products and solutions in untapped areas of the market, while ensuring that our offering is underpinned by a seamless customer experience. Technology will be at the heart of this mission and will help us achieve our goal of being a leader in the UAE market Takaful Insurance."
