Cairo – Mubasher: Alexandria Container and Cargo Handling Co on Sunday posted a 13.4% year-on-year drop in profits for the first five months of the current fiscal year.
Net profit stood at EGP 822.54 million in the period starting the July-November period of 2018, versus EGP 949.2 million in the year-ago period, the company said in a statement to the Egyptian Exchange (EGX).
Meanwhile, revenue recorded EGP 1.18 billion at the end of November, slightly down from EGP 1.2 billion in the prior-year period.
Cost of revenue grew to EGP 378.49 million in the five-month period, compared to EGP 327.76 million in the corresponding period of 2017.
Alexandria Container previously posted a 12.3% decline in its net profit during the first quarter of fiscal year 2018/2019.
Net profits reached EGP 494.5 million in the three-month period ending in September, compared with EGP 564 million for the same period last year.
