Al Rajhi Bank starts opening current accounts online

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia-based Al Rajhi Bank announced the beginning of opening current accounts online without visiting a branch.

After starting this service, clients will not visit the bank branches, excluding in special cases due to collaborating with the "Single Sign On (SSO)" programme, according to Al Rajhi’s statement.

“The customer can go to the nearest "Asraa” self-service machine and issue the ATM card immediately and manage the account through the online banking channels,” the statement added.

The move is part of Al Rajhi Bank’s efforts to develop its digital banking network.

Al Rajhi Bank last reported a 13.6% year-on-year increase in profits, reaching SAR 2.57 billion during the third quarter of 2018, compared to SAR 2.27 billion in Q3-17.

From January to September 2018, the Saudi lender’s profits jumped 12.8% to SAR 7.52 billion, from SAR 6.67 billion in the prior-year period.

By 12:34 pm Saudi time, Al Rajhi Bank’s stock levelled down 0.50% to SAR 99.
