AccorHotels’ MD, Africa portfolio hits 80,000 keys

Mubasher: AccorHotels has announced that it ranked first in the Middle East and Africa in terms of new contracted rooms during 2017 and 2018.

The France-based company signed 30 agreements in 2017, adding 8,700 keys to its regional portfolio, while closing 9 other deals in 2018, including the introduction of SO/ in Uptown Dubai, according to a company statement released on Tuesday.

Last year “was a remarkable year for AccorHotels, defined by our robust expansion strategy. Our success underscores the continued confidence of our most valued partners and guests across the Middle East and Africa,” CEO of AccorHotels Middle East and Africa Olivier Granet commented.

Contracts entered in 2017 and 2018 brought AccorHotels Middle East & Africa operated and planned projects to more than 300 hotels including 80,000 rooms located across 30 countries in the region, the French multinational hotel group revealed.

“We are very proud that we entered the region over 40 years ago and are humbled to be part of the very fabric of the destinations in which we operated in,” Granet said.
