Abu Dhabi's hotel establishment revenues rise 36.8% in February

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The hotel establishment revenues across the emirate of Abu Dhabi jumped by 36.8% year-on-year in February, data by the Statistics Centre- Abu Dhabi (SCAD) showed.

The increase in revenue was backed by a rise in the hotel establishments price index by 17.4% month-on-month last February, according to the SCAD.

The hotel apartment price index rose 7.5% in February as compared with January, with a growth of 9.4% year-on-year, the state-run statistics agency highlighted.

The SCAD also added that revenue growth was driven by the strong tourist infrastructure in Abu Dhabi in terms of attractive recreational facilities and rates.

Last Sunday, the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) said that Abu Dhabi’s hotels welcomed around 1.2 million guests during the first quarter of 2019, up 0.5% from in Q1-18.

The DCT Abu Dhabi noted that total revenue of hotels in the UAE’s capital increased by 16% to AED 1.7 billion in Q1-19.
