Above 75% of UAE IT decision-makers see public cloud future tech-backed

UAE – Mubasher: Approximately 76% of the UAE IT decision-makers believe that the public cloud is “important” for integrating future technology, including artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT), in order to transform citizen and customer experiences, YouGov said in its recent survey of 502 UAE-based IT decision-makers.

Digital transforming is being witnessed in the UAE with rapid growth, with Dubai’s IoT’s strategy expected to enable smart lifestyles by 2021.

The Emirates Blockchain Strategy will likely transform 50% of government transactions onto blockchain by the year 2021. Furthermore, the UAE Strategy for AI aims at endorsing government performance and driving economic value in nine industries.

“As part of their digital transformation, UAE organisations are investing in future technology. For example, MicroMarket Monitor says the UAE’s Internet of Things market will top $35 billion by 2019. Artificial intelligence could boost the country’s GDP by $96 billion by 2030,” according to a recent report by PwC. 

Global technology company SAP UAE’s managing director Zakaria Haltout noted: “Over three-quarters of UAE IT decision-makers agreeing on the importance of the public cloud in integrating future technology shows how artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the Internet of Things can drive economic growth, boost competitiveness, and transform daily lives.”
