ADX-listed firms’ market cap records AED 526bn in August

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Market capitalisation of companies listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) recorded AED 526 billion in August.

Since the beginning of 2018, the ADX general index surged 13.4%, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

The market capitalisation of ADX-listed public companies hit AED 495 billion year-to-date (YTD), while private firms listed on the market registered a market capitalisation of AED 7 billion YTD.

"Thanks to the continuing efforts towards the accomplishment of the organisational structure and modernisation of working mechanisms and trading systems, made ADX a magnet for domestic and foreign institutions during the recent period,” ADX’s CEO Rashed Al Blooshi commented, quoted by WAM.

Investment institutions entered the Abu Dhabi exchange during the first six months of 2018 reached 271, bringing the number of domestic and foreign investment institutions operating on the market to over 7,900.

"The shareholders of ADX listed companies have benefited the most of their presence in ADX after the exchange recorded one of the highest dividends yields in the world by 5.8%,” Al Blooshi said.
