ADX extends gains on banks, real estate in mid-session

 

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) continued the positive performance it commenced earlier on Tuesday, powered by the real estate and banking sectors.

The ADI trimmed some of its earlier gains but added 0.2% or 9.74 points to 4,832.51 points by 12:20pm UAE time. Turnover reached AED 140.23 million after 65 million shares were traded through 1,137 transactions.

The real estate sector led risers, growing 1.25% as Aldar increased 1.51%. The banking sector added 0.18% as the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) rose 1.89% and 0.57%, respectively.

ADCB was the most active in terms of turnover and traded for AED 35 million, while Dana Gas was the most active in terms of traded volume.

On the other hand, the energy sector retreated 1.89% after Dana Gas dropped 3.33%.

Analysts told Mubasher that several factors including the approach of the summer holidays and companies’ financials have affected performance in UAE markets in the previous sessions, resulting in weak liquidity and performance as well as fluctuations,.

The ADX succeeded in closing Monday in the green, powered by positive performance in the real estate and banking sectors, following a two-session decline
