ADNOC to launch Umm Lulu crude

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) on Wednesday announced a plan to launch Umm Lulu Crude Oil.

The new crude is blend produced from ADNOC’s Umm Lulu and Satah al-Razboot fields, which are operated by ADNOC Offshore, according to a company statement.

With expected American Petroleum Institute (API) density of around 39 degrees and about 0.7% weight-percent sulphur content, Umm Lulu Crude Oil is a light crude, which is rich in light middle distillates, the company added.

ADNOC expects to deliver the Umm Lulu Crude Oil’s first exports in the first quarter of 2018, noting that the production is projected to grow gradually over the next five years.

"Blending of the Umm Lulu and SARB crudes will improve production, storage, and export flexibility, while also providing our customers with greater choice,” said Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri, ADNOC’s marketing, sales and trading director.

ADNOC built two artificial islands, SARB North and SARB South, as part of the Satah Al-Razboot Full Field Development Project and the drilling operations of which are afoot, the company revealed.
