ADNOC mulls building new refinery in Ruwais

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) is planning to pick up consulting firms to perform a feasibility study for building a new refinery in Ruwais.

The new refinery has an estimated capacity of 600,000 barrels per day (bpd), and is expected to commence operation in 2025, Bloomberg News reported, citing refinery unit manager at ADNOC Abdullah Al Mosa’abi.

The refinery will be established in the Ruwais refining and petrochemicals complex.

ADNOC seeks to raise its production capacity of crude oil to 3.5 million bpd this year.

The UAE-based company’s 2030 growth strategy aims at boosting profitability from new discoveries, developments, and production, raising the value in the refining and petrochemical field, providing sustainable and economic gas supplies.
