ADNOC awards $80m EPCC deal to Chinese firm

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has awarded China's Wison Engineering Services an AED 293.8 million ($80 million) engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) contract in Adnoc Takreer’s Sulphur Recovery Unit (SRU) Replacement Project.

Under the contract, Wison will undertake – inter alia – the design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, testing, and start-up works to improve sulphur recovery efficiency, the Chinese company said in a statement.

"The contract has been awarded after a rigorous and robust tendering process,” ADNOC’s refining and petrochemicals business unit manager Abdulla Ateya Al Messabi commented.

Wison Energy Engineering is a wholly owned unit of Wison Engineering Services, which is a part of the Shanghai-based Wison Group.

“The new investments in Ruwais will have a big ripple effect that will create new employment opportunities, establish new businesses and enable existing businesses to grow and prosper,” ADNOC said via Twitter.
