ADNOC, Morocco’s OCP Group mull fertiliser JV

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: State-owned energy giant Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has signed an agreement with Morocco-based OCP Group to consider implementing a joint venture (JV) for producing fertilisers.

The two firms are in talks over the establishment of two fertiliser facilities, one in the UAE and the other in Morocco, with access to European markets and the east of Suez in Ruwais, close to Asian markets.

“The agreement builds on the expanded partnership model we announced last year, as we open our entire value chain to reliable, value-adding, long-term partners, who can complement our capabilities and resources, and enhance our market access,” Sultan Al Jaber, the UAE minister of state and ADNOC’s CEO said.

In December, ADNOC signed a long-term sales agreement with OCP Group to supply the world's largest phosphate exporter with sulphur until 2025.
