AD Ports, SEG launch logistics, freight joint venture in Uzbekistan

Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: AD Ports Group has launched a joint venture with SEG, an Uzbekistan-based oil and gas company,  to open new logistics and freight businesses and reached an agreement to establish a food trading hub in the country.

Under the joint venture, the two companies will partner to offer logistics and freight forwarding services, including intermodal freight forwarding, road, rail, and air transport services as well as the development of inland ports and container depots, according to a press release on Wednesday.

The second agreement will enable AD Ports and SEG to launch an integrated food storage and distribution hub and collaborate on opportunities related to food storage, transportation, and security.

The hub is planned to be operated near Samarkand International Airport by a subsidiary of SEG, Marakand Logair.

Meanwhile, the Abu Dhabi-based group will establish its first overseas office in Uzbekistan to support the project.

It is noteworthy to mention that in mid-June, AD Ports reached an agreement with the National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) to launch a new joint venture, SAFEEN Surveys and Subsea Services.
