50 embassies to move to Egypt’s new capital

Cairo - Mubasher: The Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) has received around 50 requests from foreign embassies to move to Egypt’s new capital, according to the company spokesperson Khaled El-Hussainy.

El-Hussainy said on Tuesday that allocating 1,600 feddans for the new diplomatic district has been completed, noting that ACUD addressed the ministry of foreign affairs and embassies to move to the new capital.

The New Capital is the first smart city in Egypt, with plans to build 14 more smart cities across the republic.

The spokesperson also indicated that by 2020, the President, the Parliament, and the Cabinet will move to the governmental district in the new capital, as per the orders of President Abdelfattah El-Sisi.
