Abu Dhabi, Sharjah target 800,000 Chinese tourists by 2021

Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: Recent reports by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) suggests that the emirate of is targeting to attract 600,000 Chinese tourists per year by 2021.

The data of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority also showed plans to receive around 200,000 Chinese tourists annually by the same time.

In 2016, Dubai saw the number of Chinese visitors rise to 540,000 compared with 450,000 in 2015, which made China among the top 10 sources of international visitors to Dubai.

The Emirati government, companies, and specialized institutions aim at increasing the UAE share of Chinese tourism which is valued at $168 billion.
