Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: UAE national banks reported a rise in assets by 7.3% or AED 151.4 billion year-on-year by the end of January 2017, according to a statement.
The banks' assets reached AED 2.233 trillion as of 31 January 2017, compared to AED 2.081 trillion in the same period in 2016.
In addition, foreign banks' assets fell 5.4% year-on-year to reach AED 377.1 billion by the end of January 2017.
Domestic credit rose 7.3% on an annual basis to stand at AED 1.284 trillion by the end of January 2017. Meanwhile, foreign credit fell 9.8% year-on-year to reach AED 169.7 billion.
