Cairo – Mubasher: The Federation of the Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC) has asked the Ministry of Finance to review the customs exchange rate for the US dollar on a weekly basis, the secretary general of FEDCOC, Alaa Ezz, said.
In TV statements on Wednesday, Ezz said that maintaining the US dollar price is necessary for facilitating import operations, noting that the effect of changing the customs exchange rate for the USD continues from 10 to 15 days.
Egypt’s Ministry of Finance had earlier issued a decision to fix the customs exchange rate for the US dollar at EGP 18.5 starting Tuesday 17 January until the end of February.
