ADX closes in green on telecom, banks stocks

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The main index of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) ended Tuesday’s session on a positive note, backed by the positive performance of the telecom sector.

Trading volume reached 137.92 million shares exchanged at AED 207.5 million, compared to 157.97 million shares exchanged on Monday at AED 255.378 million.

The telecom sector advanced 2.22% as Etisalat rose by the same percentage.

The banks sector ascended 0.47%, supported by an increase of 1.21% in Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank and 0.74% in First Gulf Bank, while the National Bank of Abu Dhabi declined by 0.48%.

On the other hand, the energy sector dropped 6.27% due to a decrease of 8.51% in Dana Gas, while Taqa grew by 2.13%.

The real estate sector also fell by 1.01%, dragged by a 1.75% decline in Eshraq, and 0.83% decrease in Aldar.

First Gulf Bank made the highest turnover of AED 40.07 million, whereas Dana Gas was the most active stock in terms of trading volume with 51.8 million shares.
