Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s main index rose at Thursday’s close by 0.56% or 61.3 points to the level of 10,941.43 points.
The index was backed by the increase in some blue chips as QNB, Industries Qatar and Ezdan levelled up 2.5%, 0.67% and 0.44% respectively.
Trading volume decreased to 7.32 million shares from 10.29 million shares exchanged on Wednesday, turnover also declined to QAR 285.83 million from QAR 335.81 million.
The consumer goods and services sector grew 1.9% as Woqod topped gainers with an increase of 6.3%, while Qatar Cinema led decliners after falling 6.3%. The banking sector levelled up 1.07%.
On the other hand, the telecom and transportation sectors fell 0.44% and 0.03% respectively.
Vodafone Qatar was the most active stock in terms of trading volume with 1.2 million shares, while QNB made the highest turnover of QAR 57.2 million.
