Hyundai Heavy, Aramco to start work on shipyard project

Riyadh – Mubasher: South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. will take part in the construction of a shipbuilding and ship repair complex, in cooperation with state-run Saudi Aramco.

To be located near Ras al-Khair, the roughly 5 million square metre complex is scheduled for completion by 2021 at the cost of 5 trillion won ($4.28 billion), Hyundai Heavy said.

The South Korean firm signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Aramco for the project in November 2015.
