Egypt unveils winning firms of exploration tender

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt accepted six proposals to drill oil and gas wells with investments valued at $200 million, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Petroleum.

The country launched an international tender for oil and natural gas exploration in 11 sectors.

The winning bidders include British Petroleum for the exploration of North-East of Ramadan area with investments of not less than $46 million.

Apache Corporation won tenders for the regions of northwest of Razak and south of Alam El-Shawish which will see investments of not less than $60.6 million and $12 million respectively.

Egypt accepted the tenders of Apex International for west Badr Eldeen and southeast of Malih with minimum investments valued at $19.4 million and $26.5 million respectively.

Dutch company Shell also was granted a tender for north of Om Barakah region, with investments of not less than $35.5 million.
