Omani bourse ends Thursday in green

Mubasher: The benchmark index of Muscat Securities Market (MSM) ended Thursday’s trading session higher by 1.87% or 102.47 points to close at 5,590.16 points; the highest daily gain since January.

The index was backed by the positive performance of blue chips, led by Al Sharqiya Investment Holding and Bank Muscat which were the top winners by rising 5.47% and 5.24% respectively.

The financial sector gained 2.74%, backed by the rise of 17 shares, including Ahli Bank and Al Anwar Holdings which levelled up by 3.87% and 3.51% respectively.

 HSBC grew by 1.75% to post the highest trading volume of 9.3 million shares at a value of OMR 1.08 million.

The industrial sector gained 0.55%, as AL Anwar Ceramics rose by 4.79%. The services segment edged up 0.55%, backed by eight shares which were led by the 4.81% growth of Al Jazeira Services.

MSM’s trading volume reached 29.47 million shares that were exchanged at a value of OMR 6.07 million.
