Kuwait’s crude oil to Japan up 11.7% in October

Kuwait – Mubasher: Crude oil exports from Kuwait to Japan increased year-on-year by 11.7% in October to 6.62 million barrels, or 214,000 barrels per day (bpd), up for the third consecutive month, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) said according to latest government data issued on Wednesday.

Kuwait overtook Iran’s place to become the fourth biggest oil supplier to Japan in October, providing 7% of the Asian nation's total crude imports, KUNA noted according to the Japanese Natural Resources and Energy Agency. 

Japan's overall imports of crude oil fell by 2.1% year-on-year to 3.06 million bpd; the fourth consecutive month of decline. 

“Shipments from the Middle East accounted for 87.0% of the total, up 10.0% percentage points from a year before,” KUNA said.
