Egypt’s bourse closes on positive note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed on positive note on Wednesday amid buying activity by foreign investors.

The benchmark index EGX30 added 2.63% or 293.9 points to close at 11,453.25 points.

The small and medium caps index EGX70 added 2.18% to close at 465.6 points, while the broader index EGX100 gained 1.77% to close at 1,077.1 points.

Similarly, the equal weighted index EGX50 rose 2.78% to close at 1,847.8 points.

The market witnessed 620.2 million shares changed hands worth EGP 1.78 billion that are excuted through 45.8 transactions.

Out of 186 stocks traded today, advancers outnumbered decliners by 143 to 18, while 25 stocks remained unchanged.

Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 173.6 million, while local and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 96.6 million and EGP 77 million respectively.
