e& partners with G42 to expand Khazna joint project

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: e& and G42, an AI and cloud computing company, have teamed up together to turn Khazna Data Centres (KDC) into the Middle East’s largest data centre provider.

Under Khazna Data Centres (KDC) brand, 12 data centres have been combined, with 13 others under construction and a further three in the pipeline, according to a press release on Tuesday.

The project amounts to over 300-megawatt (MW) planned capacity by end of 2023 across the UAE.

Hassan Alnaqbi will head the joint business as the CEO of Khazna Data Centres.

The partnership, which aims to create a digital ecosystem in the UAE, followed a deal penned by e& and G42 last year to combine their data centre offering.

The Group CEO at G42, Peng Xiao, commented: "We are confident that this next phase in its growth will help attract new global players to the UAE, contributing to the development of the local and regional digital ecosystem and economies."

Meanwhile, the CEO of e&, Salvador Anglada, said: "The completion of the deal with G42 will further enhance our capabilities to design and deliver infrastructure in line with our vision to be the leading digital enabler that transforms enterprises, governments and societies."

It is worth mentioning that in May, e& and G42 completed the transaction to merge their data centres in the UAE as part of the new joint business operating under Khazna.
