Tunisia: Carthage Cement sees its turnover grow by 29% at end September

Carthage Cement has achieved a turnover amounting to 171.5 million dinars at the end of the third quarter of 2018, up 29% compared to the same period of 2017.

Thus, in nine months, the company was able to reach the annual turnover for the 2017 financial year.

At the end of last September, the turnover on the local market recorded a growth of 33% compared to the same period of the previous year, thus reaching more than 101 million dinars and closing the first nine months with 6% growth.

Revenues from the export of clinker at the end of the third quarter of 2018 exceeded 40 million dinars, or 24% of the total turnover of Carthage Cement.

Despite a 18% decline in the third quarter, the aggregates business closes the first nine months of 2018 with a turnover of 19 million dinars, an increase of 1% compared to the same period of 2017.

Impacted by the difficult economic environment in the construction sector, the “Ready Mix” business recorded a 26% decrease in sales as at September 30, 2018 compared to the same period of 2017.

In addition, as of September 30, 2018, Carthage Cement’s debt stood at 526 million dinars, i.e. an improvement by 0.8% compared with December 31, 2017.
