Mesaieed to hike non-Qatari ownership limit to 49%

Mubasher: Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding Company (MPHC) on Sunday announced that it will increase the ownership limit of non-Qatari investors in the company to 49% from the current 15%.

Mesaieed, a subsidiary of Qatar Petroleum (QP),  will increase the ownership limit for a single shareholder to 2%, according to a statement to the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE).

The decision after CEO of QSE Rashid Al Mansoori urged all the QSE-listed firms to increase non-Qatari share ownership to 49%

All necessary actions in line with existing regulations and procedures will be taken to put this move into effect, the state-run petrochemical firm said, adding that any updates will be disclosed in the due course.

This decision is part efforts exerted at all levels to achieve the vision of the Qatari bourse, the statement added.
