Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: National Marine Dredging Co. (NMDC) is competing strongly for more than twenty tenders across the Middle East and India, said CEO Yasser Zaghloul.

Speaking exclusively to Mubasher, the top official added that his company is targeting tenders in the UAE, in addition to Egypt, India, Bahrain and Qatar.

However, the top official declined to give further details about the new tenders, but said they would help boost the company’s business volume.

The Abu Dhabi-listed company previously estimated the value of contracts to be carried out in the UAE and overseas during 2015 at around AED 3 billion.

“We are currently focusing on expanding across the GCC region, while seizing other opportunities in the Middle East,” said the CEO.

Asked about the latest developments as regards the company’s dredging in Egypt’s New Suez Canal, the top official said his company accomplished around 50% of works in the project and plans delivery of work by mid-August.

In October, the company, as part of a consortium of six international companies, won a contract worth AED 5.5 billion to carry out dredging works in the country’s new canal.
