European stocks rise in early trade

Mubasher: European stocks opened Tuesday higher despite the decline in Asian peers and mixed performance of US stocks amid investors' anticipation of Federal Reserve Chair's speech.

At 8:00GMT, STOXX 600 rose 0.9% to 337 points, and FTSE added 0.7% to 6,152.

France's CAC gained 1.1% to 4,378, and German's DAX was up 0.9% to 9,940.

Investors are anticipating the speech of Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen during a ceremony to be organized by the Economic Club of New York.
