Emirates NBD's OGM nods to 50% dividend distribution

Dubai – Mubasher: The ordinary general meeting (OGM) of Emirates NBD has approved a cash dividend distribution, equivalent to 50% of the bank's capital, for 2021.

The cash dividend payout stands at 50 fils per share, aggregating at a total value of AED 3.16 billion, according to a press release on Wednesday.

The bank's Chairman, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, commented: "The successful opening of Expo 2020 Dubai led to firm growth and facilitated economic recovery, while raising international competitiveness and reaffirming Dubai’s status as a global trade and investment hub."

Meanwhile, Al Maktoum added: "With increasing customer digital adoption during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have accelerated the pace of investment in technology and in our international network to support future growth."

It is noteworthy to mention that in 2021, the bank's net profits attributable to the equity holders rose by around 34% to AED 9.297 billion, compared to AED 6.959 billion in 2020.
