EGX gains EGP 5.8bn in market cap at Tuesday's close

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session on a positive note on the back of local purchases.

The benchmark EGX30 index rose by 1.09%, ending the mid-week session at 10,338 points.

Similarly, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI increased by 1.88% to close at 1,192 points, while the broader EGX100 EWI climbed by 1.76% to 1,918 points.

In the meantime, the equal-weighted EGX50 index advanced by 1.76% to end at 1,547 points.

The market cap value gained EGP 5.8 billion to EGP 555.571 billion.

Foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 76.8 million and EGP 1.08 million, while Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 77.8 million.

The market’s turnover stood at EGP 818.13 million after 271.9 million shares were traded through about 30,580 transactions.
