EGX ends Sunday in green; market cap grows EGP 6.2bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session on a positive note on the back of local and Arab purchases.

The main EGX30 index advanced by 0.87% to end at 10,393 points, while the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI climbed by 3.16% to 1,935 points.

Likewise, the EGX100 EWI rose by 2.67% to 2,868 points, whereas the EGX50 EWI grew by 2.8% to 1,998 points.

The market cap value increased by EGP 6.2 billion to close at EGP 648.592 billion on Sunday from EGP 642.388 billion last Thursday.

The market’s turnover registered EGP 749.06 million after 452.94 million shares were exchanged through about 34,600 transactions.

Local and Arab investors were net purchasers with EGP 29.62 million and EGP 4.11 million, respectively, while foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 33.74 million.
